CORTE MADERA Discussion planned on brain fitness The Marin County Multiple Sclerosis Group will meet to talk about brain fitness from 11:50 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. March 21 at Aegis Assisted Living, 5555 Paradise Drive. Attendees will learn the latest in brain fitness research including tips for improving memory, word finding and remembering names. SAN RAFAEL Arts school plans student show Marin School of the Arts, a Novato-based school of cinematic arts, dance, digital arts, photography, creative writing, visual arts, music, and theatre arts, is hosting a student show as a fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. March 14 at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center, 200 N. Communication skills in marriage discussed A two-session class on improving marriage communication will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. March 18 and 25 at the San Rafael Community Center, 618 B St. Couples will learn how to hold weekly meetings to foster romance, intimacy, teamwork and obtain smoother resolution of issues. Guidelines, a simple agenda and communication skills will be explained and demonstrated by instructor and therapist Marcia Naomi Berger. The class is $45 for singles and $85 for couples. Whistlestop cafe has St. Pat’s luncheon Whistlestop’s Jackson Café, 930 Tamalpais Ave., will host a St. Patrick’s Day luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 17. ROSS Historian to talk about shipwrecks “Shipwrecks at the Golden Gate” featuring National Parks historian Stephen Haller will be the topic of a First Friday Forenoon program March 6. Hosted by the Moya Library and the Ross Historical Society, the illustrated talk by Haller will feature an update on recent efforts to study underwater artifacts. Copies of the book of the same name will be available for sale.
