The meeting will provide a highlight of potential projects that could reduce flood risk in Novato, and how flood reduction initiatives can be funded. The Novato Flood Protection and Watershed Program is a collaboration between Marin’s public works department, the city of Novato, North Marin Water District, Novato Sanitary District and Flood Control Zone No. 1. San Rafael: San Rafael City Schools District Board of Trustees, 6 p.m., 310 Nova Albion Way. TUESDAY: Corte Madera: Planning Commission, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall, 300 Tamalpais Drive. Website: www.townofcortemadera.org. The commission will hold a public hearing to consider a general plan amendment and zoning ordinance amendment that would make the land use programs and ordinances consistent with one another. The area in question includes a section of Tamal Vista Boulevard, where there is an existing moratorium on development. Larkspur: The Planning Commission meeting has been cancelled. The commission will consider allowing a two car garage on Harcourt Street to be converted into a one car garage that would make way for more living space. Council will consider a change in garbage and recycling services as well as new speed limits on certain streets. WEDNESDAY: Larkspur: Larkspur-Corte Madera School District Board of Trustees, 6 p.m., Central Marin Police Authority, 250 Doherty Drive. Website: www.lcmschools.org Novato: Hamilton Levee Seepage Collection, Phase Two, 7 p.m. Novato Arts Center War Room, Second Floor, 500 Palm Dr. Website: novato.org. An overview will be provided of an upcoming project that entails installation of a toe drain along the base of the Hamilton levee along sections of Hamilton Levee at Emerson Avenue, Moore Road, Maybeck Street, and potentially along the U.S. Coast Guard and commercial hangar buildings. The drain will consist of up to 1,500 feet of perforated pipe. It is intended to divert groundwater from the base of the levee and into the storm drain system.
