Most notably, Locksley Hall, previously the state’s most expensive home on the market, sold for a record-shattering $47.5 million. Located in posh Belvedere in Marin County, the 9,235-square-foot mansion shaved $1.5 million off its original asking price — but still became the most expensive single-family home ever sold in the area. The gap wasn’t even close: The next closest sales figure in Marin County for 2015 was for a paltry $15.49 million, followed by $13 million for another Belvedere home.
